This Nutrient Does the One Vital Thing CoQ10 Cant

article2222 I think everyone would agree that maintaining a healthy heart and a sharp mind are vital to enjoying a long, active life. And it stands to reason that your heart and your brain require the lion’s share of your body’s cellular energy to function properly — energy that naturally depletes as you age.

Indeed, as your memory and “thinking power” depend on ample blood flow to the brain, it’s easy to see how heart and brain health are intimately connected. So it just makes sense to do everything you possibly can to give both the fuel they need to stay strong.

The latest clinical research shows that there are two key nutrients that both your heart and brain crave — nutrients that will stack the odds in your favor to stay physically energetic and mentally “with it” well into your 80s, 90s and beyond.

The Two Essential Heart-Brain Nutrients: CoQ10 and PQQ

If you’ve been reading my newsletter for awhile, you may already know that I’m a huge fan of CoQ10 because it works on so many levels to “turn back the clock” on aging.

It’s no secret that CoQ10 is considered one of the most important antioxidants in today’s advanced nutrient arsenal. It’s found in every cell of your body, and a growing mountain of evidence points to its ability to help you:

  • Support your cardiovascular system and keep your heart pumping strong[1]
  • Maintain healthy brain function and neuro-protection[2]
  • Increase cellular energy and reduce physical and mental fatigue[3]
  • Fight off harmful free radicals that accumulate body-wide[4]
  • Keep your eyes performing at their best, regardless of your age
  • Support gum and oral health[2],[5]

CoQ10’s core job couldn’t be more fundamental. This antioxidant is found in cell mitochondria, your cellular power plant, where it transforms adenosine triphosphate (ATP) into energy that powers every organ and system in your body. Over 75% of your body’s energy is produced this way.

The problem is, your body’s natural production of CoQ10 begins to drop off after you turn the corner on age 30. By the time you’re 50, your levels may be too low to support optimal heart function.[6] By 70, your levels can be so depleted to actually accelerate aging.[7]

And that’s before you take into account popular medications like statin drugs, which can make the situation much, much worse.

Due to Statin Drugs, Millions of People Have Learned About CoQ10 Deficiency the Hard Way

In recent years, CoQ10 has gained widespread attention due to the discovery that cholesterol-reducing statin drugs can trigger severe CoQ10 deficiency. A Columbia University study found that statin drugs can deplete your body’s CoQ10 by half within 30 days.[8] So you could be suffering from a dramatic CoQ10 drop-off before you’ve called in your first refill! Because every cell in your body uses CoQ10 to generate energy, a deficiency can really knock you for a loop. You might feel tired from the minute you get out of bed and experience:

  • Mental fatigue, brain fog, poor concentration and memory problems
  • Feelings of irritability, anxiety and moodiness
  • Aches and pains in your muscles or your head
  • A weakened immune system, making you an open target for seasonal health issues

Even scarier, CoQ10 deficiency can lead to serious cardiovascular issues, according to Mayo Clinic experts.[9] That’s not surprising, since CoQ10 is highly concentrated in your heart. Scientists have also discovered that CoQ10 deficiencies are common in people with memory loss and believe a link may exist.[10, 11]

Too Many People Write Off These Problems as Signs of Growing Older — When They’re Not!

Fatigue, irritability and a weakened immune system are often signs of CoQ10 deficiency, not aging. And if that’s the case, you can address them quickly and safely with proper supplementation.

When you consider the importance of CoQ10 for every cell in your body … the natural decline in CoQ10 levels as you age … and the depletion brought on by statin drugs and other medications, taking extra CoQ10 can make a significant difference in staying active and living a long, healthy life.

You see, supplemental CoQ10 helps create cellular energy, which in turn powers your heart and brain for optimal performance.

While the scientific literature is filled with studies documenting the therapeutic power of CoQ10 to promote physical and mental energy, another super-antioxidant by the name of pyrroloquinoline quinone (commonly known as PQQ) does something that CoQ10 can’t do, making taking these two nutrients together so vitally important.

PQQ: CoQ10’s Perfect Partner

The enormous amount of energy generated within the mitochondria exposes them to constant free radical activity. The resulting mitochondrial decay is a hallmark of aging. In fact, many scientists believe mitochondrial longevity determines overall longevity.

PQQ is such a powerful antioxidant because of its ability to reduce oxidative reactions up to 5,000 times more efficiently than good old reliable vitamin C.[12,13] It has been shown to activate genes that govern mitochondrial reproduction, protection and repair. [14-17]

But the most exciting revelation on PQQ emerged in 2010, when researchers found in addition to its ability to protect mitochondria from oxidative damage, which it shares with CoQ10 — PQQ also stimulated growth of fresh mitochondria, which CoQ10 cannot do![18]

This ability to promote the spontaneous generation of new mitochondria within aging cells, a process known as mitochondrial biogenesis, is the closest thing yet discovered to a “fountain of youth” for mitochondrial function.

PQQ’s dual capacity as a mitochondria generator and a superior antioxidant renders it extremely effective in combating age-related declines in the body’s most energy-needy organs: the heart and brain.

In regards to improving brain function, while PQQ is somewhat effective on its own, when it is combined with CoQ10, even better results have been shown. This synergistic effect has been demonstrated in a double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical trial in Japan in 2007.[19]

PQQ has been clinically shown to induce the growth of new mitochondria for more youthful cellular energy output at doses 10 mg or even less. However, it has been clinically shown that 20 mg of PQQ is necessary to effectively support cognitive function.[20]

Four More Important Players in Heart-Brain Health Support

While CoQ10 and PQQ play the starring roles, for optimal heart and brain function it is critical to include these four vital nutrients as a supporting cast:

1) Another critical component in cellular energy production is L-carnitine. This amino acid works as a “shuttle molecule” that delivers essential long-chain fatty acids into the cell’s mitochondria for ATP production. This is a critical step because CoQ10 then uses the ATP to create energy.

2) Omega-3 fatty acids, most notably DHA and EPA, represent another vital component to the cellular energy process that does so much to “power up” your cardiovascular health, thinking skills and overall health and vitality. Studies consistently show how EPA and DHA help support your heart and circulation, maintain healthy cholesterol and triglycerides, and promote a healthy inflammatory response throughout the body.[21] They also help protect your brain as you age.[22]

3) Resveratrol, the famous “red wine” antioxidant found in grape skins and red grape juice, helps fortify the delicate artery walls — the endothelium — against free-radical damage. This is critical because your endothelium produces nitric oxide, which opens up blood vessels for optimal circulation so your blood flows freely and easily, as it should. And this helps your heart do its job with less strain.

This circulation-boosting benefit of resveratrol also helps give you a mental edge by supporting blood flow to and within the brain. A study by UK researchers found that neurological blood flow does indeed increase after resveratrol intake.[23]

4) Studies consistently confirm the importance of vitamin D for cardiovascular health and brain function. Multiple studies show that “low D” is a risk factor for heart problems. According to Dr. Michael Holick, a vitamin D expert and author of The Vitamin D Solution (and a member of the Live in the Now Advisory Board), this deficiency can raise your risk of cardiovascular problems by up to 50%.[24]

What’s more, a 2014 study at the University of Exeter Medical School found that adults with vitamin D deficiency are significantly more likely to develop severe memory loss. Even moderate deficiency can raise your risk by 69%![25]

Getting ample vitamin D is absolutely critical! That’s why it’s so alarming that up to 75% of adults may be deficient, largely because so many of us don’t spend enough time outdoors.

So Many Health Benefits Are Concentrated in These Six Potent Nutrients

There is no doubt that CoQ10 and PQQ, along with L-carnitine, omega-3s, resveratrol and vitamin D make a powerful team to promote heart health, cognitive function and overall well-being. If you’re taking one or two of them, that’s good — but you could be missing out on the powerful synergistic lift you get when you combine all six together.

I urge you to conduct your own research on these nutrients, and you certainly have the option of buying each one separately. However, if you’d prefer the savings and convenience of a single premium-grade formula that provides therapeutic levels of each ingredient, I strongly recommend a new cutting-edge formula called MAX-Q10™ ULTRA PQQ.

There’s a special promotion going on now that allows Live in the Now readers to get MAX-Q10 ULTRA with PQQ for as low as $19.95 per bottle plus free shipping, which is a great deal. Click here to take advantage of this special limited time offer.

As you may know, in addition to my work with Live in the Now, I’m also CEO of Stop Aging Now, a company that has been making premium-quality supplements for over 20 years. Working with my Scientific Advisory Board, I handpicked the nutrients found in MAX-Q10 ULTRA with PQQ because they are the “Dream Team” when it comes to supporting heart and brain health. And as far as I know, no one had ever combined them into an affordable and convenient two-a-day supplement.

The Supercharged CoQ10 Formula for Optimal Heart and Brain Support

MAX-Q10 ULTRA with PQQ contains 200 mg of Kaneka Q10® trans-form CoQ10, the highly bio-available form of CoQ10 which is bio-identical to the CoQ10 produced naturally within the body and has been used in the vast majority of clinical trials over the past 30 years demonstrating the wide variety of health benefits.

After all, why waste time and money studying an inferior grade of the nutrient. They want to see optimal results just like you do. And since cheaper forms of CoQ10 are often not easily absorbed, that means they don’t produce the same results.

The amount you get in every capsule, 200 mg, is at least double the amount found in most CoQ10 formulas. We provide this potent daily serving of trans-form CoQ10 because it’s more effective for you. CoQ10 is entirely safe to take — so it pays to take levels that can make a big difference.

This unique formula also features 10 mg of premium grade PQQ, a highly pure and potent form of PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone) that is produced through a unique fermentation process and considered the highest quality PQQ in the world.

MAX-Q10 ULTRA with PQQ also includes BioPerine®, a patented black pepper extract that has been shown to improve CoQ10 absorption by more than 30%.[26] It boosts bioavailability of other nutrients as well, which makes it an ideal addition to combat absorption problems that often occur as we grow older.

In Addition to 200 mg of the World’s Best CoQ10 and 10 mg of Premium Grade PQQ, MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ Also Provides You with:

  • L-Carnitine (200 mg): This amino acid is found mostly in red meat, which means you may not get enough if you’ve cut back on meat like so many people have. Indeed, vegetarians consume as little as 10 mg a day! The 200 mg of L-carnitine in MAX-Q10 ULTRA with BioPQQ® delivers a level comparable to what you could get from a 12-ounce steak.[27] That’s a good daily amount because your body will use and store what it needs and flush out any excess that it doesn’t.
  • life’sOMEGA™ (100 mg): This unique algae-based omega-3 formula is a great source for the EPA and DHA needed for optimal cardiovascular and brain health. It’s a breakthrough, in my opinion, because it’s free of unwanted toxins and heavy metals that can be found in low-quality fish oils, and it’s a superior EPA/DHA source compared with other plant-based omega-3s.
  • Resveratrol (50 mg): Our premium-grade resveratrol is sourced from the superior Japanese knotweed, which provides a much higher concentration of resveratrol than can be derived from grapes and other sources — one daily dose is equal to over 200 glasses of red wine, without any of the side effects of alcohol of course!
  • Vitamin D3 (800 IU): Vitamin D3 is the most potent and natural form of vitamin D, and getting enough of this vitamin is essential for heart health, cognitive function and immune resistance. MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ makes sure this health-enhancing nutrient is part of your dietary intake each and every day.

I believe MAX-Q10 ULTRA with PQQ is the finest heart and brain support formula on the market today. I know of no other formula that provides this powerful array of nutrients, each in clinically researched amounts — all in two easy-to-swallow softgels per day.

However, I always urge my readers to do their own research in order to make the best supplement decisions for themselves.

Here’s What to Look for When You Compare MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ with Other CoQ10 Formulas:

The fact is, many companies fill their formulas with inferior ingredients or they skimp on quantities in order to pad their bottom line. If you’re looking at any CoQ10 formula, make sure you answer these questions:

  • Does it feature premium-grade trans-form CoQ10? MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ provides highly absorbable trans-form Kaneka Q10, the form that has been used in the vast majority of the clinical trials over the past 30 years. Cheaper CoQ10s are often not easily absorbed — which means you won’t get the benefits you deserve.
  • Is the CoQ10 yeast-fermented? Make sure to check to see if the CoQ10 is made using yeast fermentation, which is widely considered the most effective form. This is a patented process used by only the most reputable, higher quality producers of CoQ10.
  • Is it enhanced with a potent dose of PQQ? Make sure to check to see if the formula is enhanced with at least 10 mg of premium grade PQQ, a highly pure and potent form of PQQ that is produced through a unique fermentation process and considered the highest quality PQQ in the world.
  • Do ingredient quantities measure up? Other CoQ10 formulas provide as little as 50 mg per daily serving. MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ gives you a full 200 mg of trans-form CoQ10 and 10 mg of BioPQQ® along with potent clinical levels of L-Carnitine, omega-3, resveratrol and vitamin D3, all in just two softgels per day!
  • Does it include BioPerine® black pepper extract to enhance bioavailability? CoQ10 can be difficult to absorb. MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ includes this proven absorption booster that helps get the CoQ10 and other nutrients into your bloodstream. The research behind BioPerine® is so cutting edge, very few supplements include it.
  • Is it made in a FDA inspected facility? MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ is made in an FDAiinspected facility from the highest-quality globally sourced ingredients. And I personally inspect the facilities on a regular basis to ensure the highest quality.
  • Is it backed by a 365-Day Money-Back Guarantee? MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ is guaranteed for a full year. I’m so convinced that you’ll love this formula and the benefits it provides, that you can return it any time within a year for a full refund if you don’t like it. Even if you’ve taken every softgel, you’ll still get a 100% refund.
  • Is it affordable? MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ is available for as little as $19.95 per bottle (which lasts a full month), more than 3 times less than buying these high-quality ingredients separately. Plus it ships for free.

There’s a special promotion going on now that allows Live in the Now readers to get MAX-Q10 ULTRA PQQ for as low as $19.95 per bottle plus free shipping, which is a great deal.

  1. Jami Hart says:

Too many things to take. As soon as I order a 6 month supply of one thing another better one comes along, I cannot keep track of it all.
